Introduction

Hello friends, family, and strangers who stumbled upon this blog happenstance. My name is Isaiah Bissey, and this is my first ever blog post on my first ever blog, so hurray for me! I sincerely thank you for reading this, and I hope you will enjoy the content I will (hopefully) post here somewhat regularly. 

About Me

A little about me. I am (at the time of this writing) a freshman at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona. I am a professional writing major, studying to become an investigative journalist, if that is what God intends. I am also a Christian. I come from a religious family and was brought up in a religious environment—by that I do not mean strict, dictatorial legalism driven by an unhealthy Athenian fear of supernaturalism, whose proponents compensate by shoving the gospel of 'God's gonna get you' down your throat while Saul stands by approving—but rather a faithful community of like-minded Christians who are instilled with a passion for loving God and loving others. This love is in turn rooted in God's life-changing, jaw-dropping love for us. For you and for me. I have the same passion, and this is what ultimately drives me. I also have a plethora of hobbies that I will describe in the next section, and which will tend to be the subjects of my blog.

What You Can Expect

As said, I am a Christian. Some of my posts will focus on various theological and philosophical subjects. Because I am not an expert in anything—except perhaps Middle Earth lore—I won't engage these subjects (or most others) in strictly authoritarian ways, but rather in a manner of introspective thoughtfulness. One of the most life-giving things in life are deep, enriching conversations that inspire me to think in new ways and take on a new perspective. That said, some of my posts will hopefully do the same for you! Perhaps some conversation may be facilitated in the comments.

Other posts will be avenues for creative writing. I have never been one for poems, although I may try my hand at one at times, but by 'creative writing' I chiefly imply short stories. These will generally be light reads (or so I anticipate), and hopefully you will enjoy them. Depending on my mood as I am writing you may find yourselves reading a comedic, enlightening story, or perhaps a dystopian, depressing one. Either way, they should be interesting.

Next, many posts will focus on musical and literature analysis. Of course, this is all strictly opinion, so you may not care what I think about so-and-so's greatest hit from the 90's, and I do not care that you do not care. I care, and so I am going to write about it.

Lastly, because I do not care to confine myself to a box, I will write about whatever I feel like.
